Broadband light therapy delivers specific wavelengths of light to target various skin concerns including pigmentation, redness, and texture.
Our BBL device allows us to adjust the wavelengths of the light energy to tailor treatment for each patient’s unique needs. For example, a filter with a longer wavelength penetrates deeper to target vascular concerns, while shorter wavelengths are better suited to superficial pigmentation like freckles.
In total, there are 9 different wavelength filters. Some patients might need just one; while others might use their own unique combination of 2 or more.
In addition to customizing the wavelength(s) used during your BBL session, we can also change the number of “passes” (the number of times we glide the device over the skin) to meet different protocols. Fewer passes typically target redness or minor discoloration, while more passes reach deeper layers to encourage collagen production.
We can further customize our broadband light therapy in Brentwood with the use of various spot size adapters, essentially allowing us to control the overall size of the target area. By precisely controlling how much energy we deliver into the skin in each area.
