We require a consultation in advance of your filler appointment at DeLozier Plastic Surgery. During this time, we will listen to your concerns, assess their severity, and devise a thoughtfully curated treatment plan that will address them. It may be that filler alone will work best for you; or that a combination of multiple modalities will help you achieve the result you are looking for.
Our advice and guidance is based on years of experience in the field of aesthetic medicine. Your consultation is also a great time to ask any questions you might have in order to feel well-informed going into your treatment.
If you are comfortable with moving forward, we can often administer dermal fillers the same day you come in for your consultation, though not always. Your provider may have specific recommendations for how to prepare, but these are some general guidelines:
- In the days leading up to your appointment, avoid blood thinners like aspirin and fish oil to help prevent bruising, and skip alcohol for at least 24 hours to cut down on swelling.
- Make sure to drink plenty of water.
- Arrive at your appointment with a clean face and no makeup on the treatment area(s).
While most patients don’t feel the need for it, we sometimes recommend planning for some “social downtime” afterward, since you might have some swelling or redness.
